Daftar lagu barat terbaik sepanjang masa - Tentu untuk menentukan daftar lagu terbaik sepanjang masa bukan hal yang mudah, karena dalam sejarah industri musik terdapat ribuan atau bahkan jutaan lagu yang beredar dan menjadi sukses serta populer di pasar musik internasional. Untuk memilih list lagu barat terbaik di dunia juga pasti akan berbeda tiap-tiap individu karena perbedaan selera genre dan gaya musik.

Majalah musik ternama dunia, Rolling Stone magazine merilis daftar 500 lagu terbaik sepanjang masa atau judul resminya Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Tentu daftar ranking 500 besar tersebut didominasi oleh lagu-lagu barat terbaik dari berbagai tahun, baik berupa single maupun dari album yang telah dirilis dan kemudian menjadi hits internasional.

Dari 500 judul lagu barat terbaik yang terpilih, sebagian besar didominasi oleh lagu-lagu dari musisi asal Amerika Utara dan Inggris. Sebanyak 352 lagu berasal dari Amerika Serikat, 117 dari Inggris, lalu 12 lagu dari Irlandia (dimana 8 lagu diiisi oleh band rock U2), 10 lagu dari Kanada, 7 lagu dari Jamaika (kebanyakan dari Bob Marley), 3 lagu dari Australia (dimana 2 lagu dari AC/DC) dan 1 lagu dari Swedia (dari ABBA).

Selain itu, tercatat hanya lagu La Bamba dari Ritchie Valens saja yang merupakan lagu yang tidak berbahasa Inggris sama sekali yang ada dalam list. List juga terdiri dari lagu bawat lawas dan lagu barat baru. Lagu barat 60an menyumbang lagu terbanyak sebanyak 204 (40,4%), diikuti oleh lagu tahun 70an sebanyak 141 lagu (28,2%), lagu tahun 50an sebanyak 72 lagu (14,4%) dan lagu tahun 80an sebanyak 57 lagu (11,4%).

Berbagai musisi dan artis populer, baik dari musisi legenda dari era lama hingga musisi dari era baru juga mampu masuk dalam list tersebut. Musisi-musisi yang terpilih terdiri dari penyanyi solo (baik penyanyi pria maupun penyanyi wanita) atau pun grup (baik grup band, duo, boyband, girlband atau grup vokal lainnya).

Selain itu lagu yang masuk dalam kumpulan lagu terbaik dunia ini terdiri dari berbagai genre, mulai dari rock, pop, hip hop, R&B, jazz, metal, alternative, rap, blues, country, classic, reggae, punk, soul dan lain-lain.   11. Wkwkkwwk.List ngaco.Cuma gara2 judul lagunya mirip ama majalahnya sehingga lagunya bob dylan masuk no.1🤣.Diantara list itu saya rasa.bohemian rhapsody seharusnya yg nomor 1.Tapi di list ini bahkan cover lagu bisa lebih tinggi daripada lagu asli🤣.
